Galations is a powerful book...May
our eyes be open to see Your truth!
So
many of our beliefs are still traced back to the Law. We have a choice...
Many people who say we should live by the 10 commandments cannot even quote them! There
were hundreds of commandments given under the Law, not only 10. If we keep one part of the Law, the Bible says we have
to keep it all! No one can do this! Jesus was sinless, Yet HE didnt do it....HE presented grace in the things HE
was an example for us ...Jesus went against the status quo of His day.HE and His followers sought out food on the sabbath,
healed on the sabbath. (not allowed by LAW). The Law says an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth (revenge and immediate judgement)
Jesus said for us to Love our enemies and do good to those who spitefully use us. The Law said- stone those caught in
adultery to death! Jesus said...let he who is without sin cast the first stone...I do not condemn you, go and sin no more.
Our new covenant is full of grace, full of changes bought by Jesus.
Many of David's petitions to the Lord in the psalms are no longer acceptable to pray for those of us in the better covenant.
We are not to ask to kill our enemies, etc. We are now in the covenant of love.Jesus said to love them..love doesn't ask for
our enemies to die. Was David wrong? Absolutely not. HE was part of the Old Covenant and HE functioned according to the Law
and the time he was King .
But through his heart
for God and His worship and relationship,(Like Abraham) David got to see a dispensation only a few other were also allowed
to see...the other side of the cross. the resurrection life, the finished work, Jesus' victory in destroying all the works
of the enemy.
We cannot be double minded! We cannot
have part of the LAW and part of GRACE. It will not be effective gospel in our lives !
We have been given power over darkness, but because of the works of
the Law that we still may unknowingly have ties with, we give our authority to satan and he rises up against us.
The old testament is seen through the eyes of the law.It included
a time when God had to impute (reveal the price) sin to mankind because of how wicked they had become. God is Good...this
is NOT The Fathers nature! God IS Love! In the new covenant, we see through the eyes of Love Himself, Jesus. All old things(of
the Law) have become new~ Grace)
The
Scriptures of Galatians:
For
all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue
to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”[e] 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God,
because “the righteous will live by faith.”(not BY the LAW)[f] 12 The law is not based on
faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”[g] 13 Christ redeemed us
from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”[h]
14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by
faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Abraham is named The Father of Faith. Why? Because HE saw the other
side of Jesus' cross and HE believed!
“For
through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ (It's a done
deal if you can believe it) and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live
by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness
could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing.
19
Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had
come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. 20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but
God is one.
23 Before the coming of this
faith,[j] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed.(this
happens by the renewing of our minds!) 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we
might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.
But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born
of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.[b] 6 Because you
are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[c] Father.”
7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.(Of
everything Jesus gave us in the salvation package!)
8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who
by nature are not gods. 9 But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning
back to those weak and miserable forces[d]? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? 10 You are observing special
days and months and seasons and years! 11 I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.
Paul was sent to the gentiles with revelation straight from
God...Peter was sent to the Jews who were struggling to come out of the Law and into the new thing, Freedom by grace.
The Choice is Ours still today!
21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not
aware of what the law says? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other
by the free woman. 23 His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh(under the Old Covenant),
but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise. (the coming new
covenant. Although our spirits are reborn, we must work out our salvation of the soul and body unto His Fullness of all promises
seen in our lives)
24 These
things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount
Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds
to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.
28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.(that
promise has now been fulfilled by Jesus) 29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the
son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30 But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman
and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”[f]
31 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.(grace, the new
covenant)
7 Do not be deceived:
God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction;(Law,
sinful man) whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.(we live by the Spirit,
led by the Spirit as Sons and Daughters, family)The Law has served it's purpose. The sin issue has bee dealt with!
When we choose to receive His gift of salvation, our spirits are born one more time... re-born into life with Him,
In Him. Our spirits are perfect. Its our soul and body we must now allow the Holy Spirit to help us with.
The new covenant says we present our bodies as a living sacrifice...a
temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in.This will continue until we receive glorified bodies. Our bodies were not born again,
simply because they are not the" real us."
We are also told how to deal with our souls (will emotions, mind) It must be renewed! Renewed from what
and to what? removed from the wrong thinking and mindsets that hold us back from the truth of who we are NOW in Him.From old
wineskins, to the new. Our souls stand in the way if we do not adhere to this powerful transformation! We have to let go of
the old in order to receive the new.there is no room for both! Jesus tells us about the new wine...it has to go into new wineskins!
We cannot stay a mixture of law and Grace. It will burst and it will be spilled.(Not effective, not producing what
we wish to have in our lives)Remember, 2/3 majority rules! Our spirits are always in alignment witrh Him, our bodies will
always want what they want and strive against us, so our souls are the deciding factor!
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time
we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10
We
cannot allow ourselves to get stuck in religion, tradition of men...Even "good" men, the church. We must submit
to So must we! We must submit God , resist the enemy who attacks us through our bodies through opened doors and through our
thinking that has not been renewed to the fullness of what Jesus purchased at the cross! He didn't just buy it, He arose
as the Resurrection!
What part of the Law are you
still holding on to? We are to examine ourselves to see that we be in Faith, not the Law and bondage it causes. You may think...I
am not under the Law, I embrace the new covenant! But i challenge you to examine your thinking and mindsets in the light of
Jesus finished work. Do you have all that you have been given? Then there is a doubled mindedness some where holding you back,
beloved. It's time to soar!!!!Our harvest will come in due season when we are aligned in truth! We are
"the next big move of God," the "next great outpouring"...we are not waiting on God, God is waiting
on us! Apostle Amy Friend
